To make a no sew blanket, cut 2 pieces of fleece and place cotton batting in the middle of 1 of the pieces so you have a fleece border all the way around. Next, pin the 2 pieces of fleece together so the batting is in the middle, and cut out 3 inch squares from each : 39K. While avid quilters have an array of methods available for joining blocks, there's one process to always keep in mind: quilt-as-you-go. Essentially, QAYG is a way to break down your quilting into more manageable pieces, making it a go-to for those who have smaller work spaces, are working on small-scale projects (like a patchwork bag), or are managing joint pain.
Step 2: Square/True up the Quilt Sandwich. Before you add the binding to the quilt, you want to make sure it’s still neat and squared-up at the corners and edges. This will give you a smooth, even foundation for sewing on the binding. Sometimes the quilting process pulls in at the edges of the quilt, so this process helps to even that out. If your quilt top is just an inch or two off in one direction or another, it probably won’t make much difference. Quilt Piecing Tip #1: Before you Start, Check your Seam Allowance. This quilt pattern (and most all quilt patterns) are designed to fit together like puzzle pieces. Each piece has a 1/4″ extra on it to account for seam allowance. If you sew your pieces together and your seam allowance is not exactly 1/4″ your quilt block will not line up. By this time you'll notice you have quite a bit of fabric bunching up on the right against your sewing machine - the easiest way to combat this is to roll the quilt up on the right so you can keep sewing.
